So many ways to get started

RSVP

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

A partnership between Big Brothers Big Sisters and the National Senior Service Corporation, volunteers age 55 and over provide elementary through middle school age Littles with one-to-one time and attention in their schools, typically once a week during the academic year.

Teachers identify children who can benefit most from interaction with a caring adult. As their friendships evolve, volunteers and children discover ways to make school and learning fun.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee is currently implementing the RSVP Program in Robertson, Dickson, Hickman, and Cheatham counties in Tennessee.

The majority of RSVP volunteers spend their time with their Little Brother or Sister in area elementary, intermediate, and middle schools.

With special permission from the children's parents, sometimes the RSVP volunteers take group trips to visit area attractions and attend events.

A simple outing such as an afternoon trip to the zoo shown here can provide memories to share for years to come. Plus, it's a lot of fun for all ages!

Volunteers and friends of RSVP members hold a Fashion Show each year in Springfield highlighting the latest styles available for all ages as a fund-raiser to help serve more children in the program areas.

Additional fund-raisers are held in Dickson county in conjunction with the annual Bowl for Kids' Sake campaign conducted by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
