 Go Over The Edge for Big Brothers Big Sisters
Nonprofit announces 2017 City Auto Over The Edge

NASHVILLE, TN (Dec. 14, 2016) – Nashvillians no longer have to look back at a missed opportunity. The 2017 City Auto Over The Edge benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee will give daredevils in the Music City one more chance to rappel the 269-foot tall Omni Nashville Hotel on Friday, April 21, 2017.

The event, now in its second year, is a high-profile urban rappelling experience where supporters strive to reach a personal fundraising goal of $1,000 in donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters in order to secure a spot on the wall of the 23-story skyscraper. Registration is now open for those brave supporters, known as Edgers, to sign up and start working toward their goal. The first 70 people to hit the mark are guaranteed to go over.

“We certainly have more traditional fundraisers and we appreciate everyone who engages in those, but Over The Edge really sets a high bar. It’s one of the most exciting events we’ve been a part of since we started in Nashville,” said Carlyle Carroll, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

The event includes a street party with food trucks, vendors and information about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, a nonprofit agency that focuses on one-to-one mentoring relationships for at-risk youth in Nashville and the surrounding areas. The organization is more than 110 years old nationally. Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters supports more than 1,500 children a year in safe, secure, professionally supported mentorships, which result in more confident children, stronger schools and safer communities.

Registration for the 2017 Over The Edge is at The initial fee of $50 counts toward the participant’s fundraising goal, and Big Brothers Big Sisters sends status updates and fundraising tips to help Edgers along the way to the top.
